This kit does not require a body lift but may or may not require slight transmission tunnel modification based on what transmission/ transfer case combo you use. 4 inch minimum suspension lift required to for front axle clearance. DIY kit requires you clean a very small amount of slag left over from the laser. This kit is made from laser cut 1/4″ steel. The DIY kit includes a few extra pieces including the same jig plate we use for welding the engine crossmember together. The DIY kit is the same as the Welded kit but for those who wish to save a few bucks and weld the kit together themselves. The Welded kit comes fully welded ready to install with all the necessary hardware included. We offer two version of this kit, Welded, or Do It Yourself (DIY). So, unless you buy the DIY kit, there is no welding required to install this kit. The motor mounts bolt straight to the factory frame motor mount brackets and straight to the engine block with slotted holes to give you some adjustment along with using 2” round polyurethane bushings. Basically, to install this kit, you just need to remove the factory engine crossmember, notch the front factory frame sway bar crossmember, drill some holes, and bolt the new engine crossmember, front frame brace/ notch plate, and motor mounts in place. This kit is designed to be a bolt-in kit and is made to adapt a 1989-2002 12 & 24 valve Cummins 6BT engine (with stock oil pan) into a 1973-1987 Chevrolet or GMC 4wd pickup trucks and 1973-1991 4wd Blazers, Suburbans, and Crew Cabs. If kits are in stock, please allow 3-7 business days for your order to process before shipping. We try not to let kits stay out of stock for very long. Due to our small size and busy in shop customer project schedule we run new batch as soon as possible. ** Although we do our best to keep kits in stock, if we are currently out of stock, we do accept backorders. *AFW CUMMINS SWAP KIT INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS PDF*
